Hamburger & Veggie Soup Recipe

At the beginning on the week, I shared my first try at Once a Month cooking with you.  I promised some recipes and another post later this week, but life has simply gotten in the way.  I was out of state for a few days, and this time change is seriously killing me!   However, I do hope to get all caught up on posting deals for you all this weekend.

We are in the midst of trying to make Saving On The Essentials the best that it can be – we are slowly adding more stores and coupon match ups to our site, updating pages to make finding what you are looking for more simple, and searching for the best deals from around the web.  Stay tuned because I have a ton of great deal and freebies headed your way over the weekend!  I didn’t want to leave you hanging though, so here is one of my favorite crock post recipes!

Hamburger and Veggie Soup

1 lb Ground Chuck

1 Onion, chopped

1 can of Tomato Juice {I’ve also used tomato sauce in a bind and added water and it still tasted great!}

5-6 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks

Your Favorite veggies

Noodles, if desired

Cook Ground Chuck and onion on medium heat until brown.  Drain and set aside.  Peel Potatoes.  Place all of the ingredients into the crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours or until potatoes are tender.    I add the noodles in about 2 hours before we are set to eat because they tend to get mushy when they overcook.

I love this recipes because it is incredibly simple and you can add whatever fits your families tastes the best.   Stay tuned throughout the weekend because I will be giving away a Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker!
