I stopped by Kroger last night in order to pick up a few things…and ended up spending about $50 more than I intended. While shopping I noticed that Kroger had their in store brand of cheese on sale for $2 so I grabbed 9 bags to stick in the freezer. When I got home I couldn’t figure out just why I had spent so much…only to realize that I had purchased 4 bags of cheese that were not on sale. I returned those 4 bags of cheese and got $23.24 back. uh huh. At first I was kind of embarrassed about returning bags of cheese, but when I realized that I was going to get over $23 back all embarrassment faded away. Who pays $6 a pound for cheese? And off brand cheese at that. Not me!
Moral of the story? Always make sure that you pick up the correct item that is on sale. Don’t rush through a shopping trip because it will end up costing you more.
