There are many different abbreviations when it comes to couponing. When I first started couponing I felt like I was learning a completely new language! Here is a list to help you out along the way:
Printable or IP – Internet Printable Coupon
Q – Coupon
MQ – Manufacture Coupons
In-ad Coupon – a coupon in a stores sales ad {mainly at Walgreens}
Blinkie - a coupon dispensed from a box at a store – usually has a blinking light on it to draw attention
Peelie - a coupon found on an item you purchased
Stacking – Using a store’s coupon with a manufacture coupon
P&G – Procter and Gamble – they have monthly inserts in the Sunday Paper
SS - Smart Source – a weekly insert in the Sunday paper
RP - Red Plum – a weekly insert in the Sunday paper {in some areas}
GM – General Mills Inserts
RR - Register Reward – Walgreens Coupon that prints out when you purchase certain items
IVC - Instant Value Coupon – Walgreens monthly coupon booklet
Wags – Walgreens
ECB - ExtraCare Buck – CVS Coupon that prints when you purchase participating items
OOP – Out Of Pocket – actual cash paid
MIR – Mail In Rebate
Fillers – a small, inexpensive item to keep your purchase total in the positive. Coupon vs. Item ratio.
BOGO or B1G1 – Buy One item Get One free {or 50% – these can vary by store and sales ad}
$1/1 or $1/2 – $1 off of 1 item or $1 off of 2 items
ymmv – Your Miles May Vary {meaning that each store is different and may not follow suit of another store — even within the same chain}
wyb – When You Buy
