Celebrating Our 2nd Anniversary

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 2nd anniversary.    Since my husband so sweetly surprised me by taking the day off, I am following in his steps so that we can spend the day together.

Don’t worry though – I have plenty of posts lined up for you guys.  And tomorrow my head will be out of the clouds….maybe!  ;)

On my Never Ending To-Do List…

I know that I cannot be the only one with a To-Do List longer than my arm…that seems to grow every. single. night!

These past four weeks have been crazy…to say the least.    We began looking for a somewhere to move back in August, but it wasn’t until the Lord literally tossed a new place to rent into our laps that we took the plunge to move.   Once we saw the house, we decided to move within 24 hours and moved 11 days later.

As you can imagine, I spent my days following our decision to move packing as much as I possibly could.  11 days to pack an entire house isn’t much time.   I didn’t organize anything – it was all just thrown into boxes to deal with later.

Well…it’s later.  And I’m dealin’ with it, but not as quickly as I would like.   I am on a purging mission.  I want to simply our lives.  I am gathering up items for a yard sale once spring weather finally arrives to stay.   I went through paperwork for five hours yesterday.  Five hours.

And you know what I said to myself today?  I cannot do it all.  I can’t work full time, run a house, have all the laundry folded and put away, my coupons clipped, and my shopping done.   I just can’t.  I’m not perfect and I can’t do it all.    As much as I hate to admit it, I have to accept it.  If I don’t, I will drive myself insane trying.   There is always one more coupon to clip, always another dish that needs washing, always another deal to post…always, always, always.

Today I need to refocus my priorities. I am choosing to simply focus on today and a few select things that have to be done today.   Tomorrow is a new day with which I can tackle my to-do list with renewed vigor, but I won’t complete everything on my list this week.  Or even this month.  And I’m okay with that.

Today I am going to take time for myself.   Time for my family.  Time for church and fellowship with other believers.  Time to enjoy the sunshine on my face.  Time to enjoy living life!

What are you taking time for today?

Celebrating Love Everyday

My husband and I didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.   No cards,  no flowers, no chocolate.   With the stress of moving over Valentine Weekend, a house full of boxes, late nights unpacking, and working full time…we were just too tired.

My sweet and wonderful hubby was worried that I would be upset at not setting aside time for us to celebrate – that he didn’t get a chance to make me a card this year and that, instead of buying me flowers, we put a good chunk of change down for deposits on our new rent house and utilities.

As we sat and talked I assured him that none of those thing matter to me.   I can live without chocolate (for a bit anyway ;) ) and a card.  And I can definitely live without flowers that will be dead within a week or two.    Now, don’t get me wrong….all of those are good things.

But, for now in this season of our life, it was enough that he wanted to do all of those things for me – because it let me know that they were in his heart.   He loves to give me things, write special notes, and surprise me with flowers.   And I love it when he does – it never fails to delight me.

It isn’t about what he gives me – be it flowers, a card, a trinket, or taking me out to dinner.   It all boils down to one thing: love.   I know that when he brings me a surprise it is because he loves me and wants to do things for me.   These things let me know that I am on his mind, on his heart, and that he still wants to pursue me.

It was during our talk that I realized that we do not need a special day that we set aside with flowers and chocolate to celebrate our love.   We celebrate our love each and every day.

And We’re Back Online!

Noticed how quiet things have been around here since Sunday?   Apparently our phone company thought I needed an unscheduled blogging break because they routed our DSL line into our new neighbors house across the street!     We finally got it right late yesterday afternoon.

Our move went well this past weekend.  We are tired and our house is bursting with boxes, but we are quickly settling into our new house.    Be prepared for an inbox full of posts.   I have a ton of deals plus store coupon match ups to get posted today!

Happy Wednesday! :D

Moving Day!

Things will be a little more quiet than usual since today is our moving day.  We are headed to meet up with our new landlord, put deposits on our utilities, and begin moving!      We are excited about finding a new house and I am looking forward to getting settle in the next few weeks.  Having boxes e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. around the house for 2 weeks have driven me nuts!  ;)

Thoughts and prayers would be appreciated if you think of it.  We have a lot of stuff to get done in 48 hours and need all the help we can get. :)    I have scheduled some posts for ya’ll so I wouldn’t leave you hanging.   There are some great deals going on this week so make sure to check ‘em out!
